About Emily

Emily is an American sprint kayaker who has also competed in cross-country ski racing, marathon canoeing, marathon kayaking, CrossFit, and Olympic weightlifting. At age 14, she became the youngest person (and was part of the first all-women's team) to ever kayak from the US to Canada across Lake Ontario (2002). In spite of its icy winter water, the foundation of Emily's athletic career was built on the Erie Canal in her hometown of Fairport, NY.

Emily won US Sprint Kayak Team Trials in 2016 in the k1 200m, almost reaching her goal of making it to the Rio Olympics. She placed 7th at Pan-American Championships that same year.

In 2017, Emily relocated to Richmond Virginia. At 2017 Team Trials she placed 2nd in the k1 200m.

In 2018 Emily has been pursuing admission into a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program while working as a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer. She also competed at the National Level in the sport of Weightlifting.
